In this article I am going to cover the topic of digital video marketing and how when used correctly it can increase your sales and lead generation for your home business.

Digital video marketing is an essential part of the marketing plan that you should have for your online business. Millions of hours of video are uploaded to all the major social media platforms on a daily basis.

Video is very engaging and it is now the number one choice on how people consume content on the internet. YouTube is owned by Google and every day people will log onto YouTube to get their daily fix. It is not always people searching for funny pet videos though!..

Individuals see YouTube as a place to find solutions for problems that they are experiencing. It may be they need to know how to fix something or they want to lose weight fast. Maybe they are looking for product reviews or how to make money online.

So, digital video marketing is very powerful if you have a business. This is because there is a massive audience just waiting to be tapped into. You are a problem solver and you can showcase your products and services by making short and informative videos.

Your business has products and services to offer. So you should be making short informative videos highlighting the benefits and features of your products and services.

Try to keep them under 5 minutes because if you take too long to get to the point of your video then you may find people will get bored and click away.

Make sure that your videos are keyword focused. Here you will have to do a little bit of keyword research to find out what people are looking for. Use the search box in Google and YouTube to get some ideas.

Then base the content and titles of your videos around the keywords that you find and make sure that  they are relevant to your products and services.

There are two types of video that you should create. Lead generation and sales videos. If you are doing a lead generation video then make sure in the description box underneath your video that you put a link to your opt-in page. Likewise if you are doing a direct sales video then link it to your sales pages.

You should always make sure that your videos give great value along with making them informative and entertaining. Try and put across your personality into the video so that people can engage and relate to you and your business.

The number one point of call should be YouTube. As I have mentioned it is a massive search engine and there are always people looking for content that is based around the products and services that you offer.

Next should be all your social media platforms. Again make sure that your posts are keyword related to give you the best possible chance of being found when people enter keywords into the relevant search boxes on all the major platforms.

Now I am assuming that you have a website, if you have not got one then you really need one to make sure that you keep up with your competition. This is your virtual real estate and a place where people can find out all about your business. So once you have created your video you can make a post or article about it and put it on your website.

The modern day smartphone is a highly sophisticated piece of equipment and you can use the video function on them to make very high quality videos. This is great because you always have your phone on you so there may be a spur of the moment when you want to shoot a quick video. Also you can upload it straight away to YouTube.

Also you can use your laptop if you are making information tutorials which you combine with screen capturing software. There are some free software programs available to get you up and running and there are also programs such as Camtasia which are highly sophisticated video editing suites.

The microphone on your computer can be sufficient but you may want to look at specialized microphones such as the Blue Yeti for higher quality sound. You could get set up for just a few hundreds dollars if your budget allows.

So I have shared with you some valuable tips and strategies on how to start your digital video marketing. The first thing to do is to shoot your first video, play around and try different things, but above all have some fun when you are shooting your videos.
