Details Of The Status Of Your Business – You need to write down what your products and services are along with any challenges that you are facing or could potentially face over the next 12 months. Also you need to look at rules and regulations that you have to follow and what could potentially happen if these changed for any reason.
  2. Your Target Market – Who are your customers and what are the problems that they are suffering from? Not everyone will buy your product so you need to focus on specific solutions that you can offer the marketplace. Your business may cover a specific niche but the benefits your product offers may appeal to a sub-niche and that is called segmentation.
  3. Set Your Goals – When setting your goals you must be specific. For example “you want 5000 subscribers in the first 3 months” or “to be turning over $5000.00 per month within 6 months”.
  4. Determining Your Marketing Tactics – Which marketing platforms are you going to use. This may only become clear after you have done the research into your ideal customer. If those people spend most of their time on Facebook then you should use that platform. Likewise if your customers hang out somewhere else then use that platform.
  5. Your Marketing Budget – How much money have you got to spend. If you have limited resources then you may need to look at free marketing methods which could have an impact on the time it takes to get positive results. Also offline methods such as direct mail can be expensive so you have to factor that in and if you are travelling to see clients you will have travelling costs. So look at your total budget and allocate your budget accordingly.
