In my latest blog post I want to look at the topic of lead generation. More specifically I want to help you understand the importance of having a lead follow up system in place to act as a communication tool with your prospects.
Lead generation is very important to any business and it can be challenging to generate them in the first place. It can be even harder sometimes to turn those leads into high paying customers and on many occasions home business owners do not follow up with their leads enough, which has an overall effect on the conversion rates and sales that they experience.
It takes on average between 5 and 7 follow ups for a lead to take action and purchase a product and service. So if you are giving up after just one or two then you are leaving a lot of money on the table.
There are a few ways that you can follow up with your prospects such as email, phone and even in sometime cases sending a letter through the mail. But you must have a system in place.

This should be the first thing that you organize. To do this you will need an auto-responder service such as Aweber. Here you can create a sequence of emails that get sent out periodically which at first thanks the subscriber for signing up and welcomes them to your home business.
Within this sequence of emails you should focus on providing valuable information on how you and your business can help them with the problem that they are experiencing.
You should highlight the benefits of your products and services and incorporate links into the body of your content on how they can access your products and services.
These should be links to your sales pages where you are asking them to take the action of making the purchase.
This initial follow up should be for your low cost entry price point of your sales funnel. If you are offering higher priced ticket options then it is advisable that you then make physical contact through phone or Skype after they have made their initial purchase.

Here is where you can really qualify your prospect to see if they are going to be a good match for your other products and services.
By speaking to them you can then start to form a real bond and relationship with them and advise them on how your further products can benefit them. Never be pushy because every individual will have a point when they fall out of the buying cycle you have set up.
Even when this happens you should still keep in contact with them so that they know that you have not forgotten about them because you never know they may at some point re-enter your buying cycle and make further purchases in the future.
