Mark Fords Story – Part 4

Mark Fords Story – The Home Business Owner Lifestyle

In this article Mark Ford continues his story by delving deep into the lifestyle that he has created for himself through the flexibility of being a home business owner.

Mark Ford

Hello, Mark Ford here and I can’t believe we are at day 4 of my story. By now you should be building a good picture in your mind of the person that I have become through what I have shared with you so far about my life, my family, my career and the home business ventures that I have entered into and been successful at.

Today is a little bit more relaxed because I want to paint a picture of just what kind of lifestyle that you could build for yourself if you were to take the leap of faith and become a home business owner. To do that I think the best place to start is with the lifestyle that I enjoy, after all it is my story that you are travelling through. However, you can paint your too!

Lets start by going back to 2006 as this is where it all began as a full-time home business owner.

As you know I left a highly successful legal career of 29 years because I felt unfulfilled and disillusioned with the whole corporate way of life that I had been involved in and millions of others are still experiencing, and that is just the United Kingdom. Coupled with the fact of long commutes into work, fighting the traffic no matter what form of transport you use, if you had a car at least you had the element of comfort and privacy but most of the time public transport can be less desirable, stuck in a capsule full of other individuals not looking forward to the day ahead and not in a healthy environment, people with sniffles, colds, the flu and god knows what other ailments.

Well when Poolefod Properties was born that was taken out of the equation for me as I converted one of the rooms in my house in Staffordshire to our office. I lived in a quaint village called Bradley and the peace was deafening, birds singing and fresh air, totally different to the sound of car horns and pollution that people must endure if they work in large towns and cities.

I have always been good at creating systems, especially in my legal career, and soon realised that now I worked from home I had to create a daily method of operation, a checklist so to speak so that I had a solid structure to work to so that all the tasks that I needed to complete each day were done on time. This is my first tip to creating a home business lifestyle, you need to have that structure in place. Also you need to form habits which will take some time to bed in but give them time, one of my habits was to go for a

Bradley Church, Stafford

Bradley Church, Stafford

walk around the village after breakfast, with a piece of fruit in hand I would spend around 15 – 20 mins filling my lungs with clean fresh air, saying good morning to people out walking their dogs and generally being grateful at mother nature as everyday come rain or shine is different, even after living there for many years you always spot new things that sometimes can be a source of inspiration for ideas to explore for your business.

I also set the hours that I would work to. It can be easy to slip into working 16-hour days and there are times when you may need to do this especially when you are starting out, but it is very important for your health that you create a work/life balance. Burning the candle at both ends isn’t a recipe for disaster but it certainly doesn’t help with your productivity.

Another thing to consider is your appearance. When you work from home you don’t have so much contact with other people and I have seen it over the years where people forget about their general appearance. You may have read articles where you can work in your pyjamas, well that is true, but I think it is a sloppy way to conduct your business. You should always make the effort, be clean and tidy, you don’t have to be suited and booted so to speak but at least take some pride in yourself.

What I am doing at the moment is just laying some ground rules for working at home because when you make that decision to become a home business owner it is how you set your stall out that will determine whether you are successful or not. Having a home business is not a hobby that you can play at, it is serious stuff and when you do it right you will then start to reap the rewards of what a home business can do for the quality of life.

Nice Money PublicationsWhen I started Nice Money Publications in 2011 it was in a totally different industry to property. This is digital marketing so there are no boundaries to hold you back. You are living in a virtual world where business and transactions can happen in a split second which is completely different to the property business because that was more localised and when set up is more about managing the business.

You may have heard of a term called the “laptop lifestyle” but do you really know what it means? In plain English you have a portable business at your finger tips so wherever you are in the world you can operate your business as long as you have an internet connection. It can be from a hotel room, a local coffee shop, your favourite beach or 35,000 feet in the air on a plane.

I will just back track a bit to say you can even use your computer if you are offline. There may be occasions where you can’t get online but then if this happens, due to the business I run, I can still create information products such as reports and e-books which can then be digitalised when I can get back online so in effect there are no restrictions.

A digital business like mine can be set up to run automatically. I have mentioned on a few occasions that I am good at creating systems and this is the key to online success. You must systemise your home business because when you do it creates the time freedom that I now enjoy today.

Here is the comparison to a traditional business and a digital business. Generally with a traditional business you must be at the point of contact with your customer for it to function, either in a shop or office where people come in or if you have service industry you would probably have to go to the customer. This means that there are only so many hours in a day you can trade. With a digital business which sells products and services online you are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Yes, even on Christmas day you can make money but this all hinges on systems, when you have them in place and the marketing skill sets you can write your own paycheque and have the time to enjoy it.

Mark Ford On A Pleasure Boat In Cyprus

So my lifestyle now means I can be spontaneous. I have homes in the United Kingdom and Cyprus, so I can choose where I want to be at any point in the year. All I need is my laptop under my arm and take my business with me. It doesn’t stop there as I also travel the world within my role of being a top-level coach and mentor to other aspiring entrepreneurs, which as a side not I will talk more about tomorrow.

I travel to exotic locations to help run exclusive retreats for our members where we mastermind new ideas, network with each other and lay on practical activities to develop team work as well as go on fun excursions. So it is work but not in the general sense, more like a working holiday where I get to be with exciting and open-minded people who are creating their own digital lifestyle of freedom and choice. This is a great passion of mine in respect to helping other people achieve their dreams and goals in life.

A home business lifestyle then allows me to follow my other passion in life which is the game of Cricket. Over the last few years I have travelled the world following the England Cricket Team on their world tours, I won’t go into too much detail of what I get up to on these tours here because I have set up my own website called MarksCricketTours.com which showcases much more what having a home business can do for the quality of your life. Make sure you check out the website because it also explains what makes it all possible.

marks cricket tours

MarksCricketTours.com

A home business makes two things possible. The first is choice to do what you want and the second is freedom to do it when you want. Also you can control your earning potential, if you need more money to maintain the lifestyle you create then you just need to set up another system to generate another income stream.

I hope that today I have given you an insight to my life and how I lead it. Your ideal lifestyle will be different, but you can absolutely achieve it through having a home business and there are plenty of opportunities available to you, one of which I will introduce you to tomorrow so make sure you come back then.

Mark Fords Story – Part 3

Mark Ford’s Story – The Home Business Owner – Part 3

An article in the Mark Ford’s story series where he shares his experiences of being a home business owner, and takes a look at the various different business models that he has ventured into. Part 1 herePart 2 here.

Mark Ford

Welcome back. Up to this point I have shared with you my childhood years, looking at my education and what made me break into the legal profession within the United Kingdom and how I qualified as solicitor. Also during that time, I shared with you some personal periods of my life that I had to deal with which have ultimately led me to become a home business owner.

Today I want to concentrate on my home business career which all started with “Space Roadshow”.

What is “Space Roadshow” Mark? Well this actually started during my time as a solicitor.

As I mentioned a couple of days ago I was a child in the swinging sixties going into the seventies.

Music often plays a huge part in peoples lives and I was no different. Rock and Roll in the 1950’s and 60’s, 70’s disco and new romantics of the 80’s was music I grew up with. All of this evolved music and that evolution progressed with brand new sounds emerging which are the foundation of what music is today.

My Mother (June) & Step Father (Jim) Enjoying A Drink

I had spent many years studying law and, as a result, I became uncomfortable in a social setting not knowing too much about music and all the various genre’s and artists.

As a result I became very passionate about music and little did I know at that time it would be the catalyst to my first business venture.

When my mum re-married she, along with my step-dad Jim, moved to Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands and I happened to be over there on holiday with my brother Nigel Ford and a friend of ours, Paul Nixon.

Mark Ford – The Mobile Disc Jockey – Space Roadshow

mobile disc jockey

It was the year 1996…. when my first home business got started!

We were out one evening at a club called “Space” and it was there that a seed for an idea was sewn. The idea was to set up a mobile disco, so we agreed on a strategy and when we all returned to the United Kingdom we pooled our resources and got the equipment together that we needed. We then started to spread the word that “Space Roadshow” was in business and open for bookings. We also did some advertising on Yellow Pages and it wasn’t long before the phone started to ring for us to take regular bookings.

Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy Osbourne

Once we found our feet we then started to branch out into event management where we would book additional entertainment acts and handle things like the food and catering. Things were going really well and we grew this business to a turnover of around $1000 plus per week with some good profit margins as well.

One of the biggest events we put on was for the music icon Ozzy Osbourne of Black Sabbath fame, it was his 50th birthday and we held his bash at the N.E.C in Birmingham, UK, and it was a great success.

This business was a perfect side line to my career as a solicitor as it was predominately in the evening and a great stress relief from the 9 – 5 daily grind. Not only that; it provided a release, a distraction if you like, from the trauma, anxiety and stress suffered from the break up of my marriage back in 1991.

When we started out we had a figure in mind of how many events we wanted to hold, that figure was 1000 and when we achieved that goal we closed the business down. It just seemed the right time which coincided with my father becoming ill with cancer in 2005/6 and this also led up to me quitting my career as a solicitor.

mark fords dad

Dad with Cancer 2005/6

When my father sadly passed away I decided to take a leave of absence from work and during that 4 month period I had the opportunity to take stock and see what direction I wanted to take my life. The direction that I took was to open a brand-new business in a totally different industry. With a very close friend of mine, Elizabeth Poole (Liz), we formed a property management and investment business which we named Pooleford.

Mark Ford – Property Investor and Developer

Pooleford Property

The business helped people invest in property with low capital expenditure as we would source low value properties and then help to push the deals through. We also started to create our own portfolio of properties which we would let out to people who were struggling at the time to give them a real sense of safety and security. It was a win/win scenario as investors like us managed to secure great properties to make money from and the tenants were able to rent properties for reasonable fees. We built up the portfolio to 21 properties and managed a number of others for our investors. This was back in 2006 when we started, and we are still going strong today 13 years later.

Why are we still going? Tenacity, not quitting and helping others are a big part of it. However, you see I had to realise something and maybe you will too?

Life is not just about how much money we can make from a job or business venture to pay the bills, the next holiday or buy a car or house. We can live a bigger life and position ourselves to help others less fortunate.

After the passing of my father I had a big wake up call to look back on what I was doing in my career with the law and with the entertainment agency. Was it really about me? Well, to a certain extent yes.

I was fixing myself from my marriage and divorce and letting go of the emotions and feelings attached to that. I would escape through my business and have a different focus. When I was not at an event the feelings came flooding back. I realised that I had to work on my self awareness a lot more and let the past go. And…. the big thing stop buying the next car, the next holiday and all the rest of it but be a servant to others and live with passion. Live a serviant life!

A life where I step up for others SO THAT they achieve inner peace.

How was I going to do that? Great question…

Liz Poole

Liz Poole

Well, for starters neither myself or Liz were happy to see people being turned out on the streets and made, in effect, homeless because they could not buy or rent a house the traditional way. We wanted to help these people with their inner peace to have a roof over their head.

We set about creating a property portfolio to provide these people with a home and create long term relationships where everyone involved could prosper.

We found run down houses, renovated them and either sold them on or re-financed them to pay back banks and investors from the rise in value gained from the renovation.

The next part of the strategy was to rent them out to ‘homeless sofa surfing’ tenants who were on Social Security packages and, with Liz’s housing officer background, we were able to use her knowledge on the financial packages that may be available to secure rent, deposit guarantees and other financial arrangements with the local authorities.

Make Money From Home With PropertyIn all we raised through our own funds, private investor arrangements or bank finance in the region of £2,000,000 and this was a level of ‘good’ debt we had never been responsible for before.

However, we have been happy to carry this financial burden due to the help it has given society with such a social enterprise.

Liz and I are extremely proud of what we have achieved over the 13 years of business and it is our dedication and mission to serve people which has led to our success.

However, here’s the problem, at least if you look at it that way because you can also choose not to! – it left me flat broke living on credit cards and almost loosing my main residential home to a re-possession. That’s how far I went because I re- mortgaged that too and spent the lot on houses. I saved the day in the end!

Make Money Online From Home with Affiliate Marketing

In May 2011 I was looking to add additional income streams to my portfolio. Although property is a great investment it is also quite expensive to operate such a business and it ‘stripped’ the bank!

While doing research on the internet for opportunities to create an internet ‘cash rich’ business I came across a business model called affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is a great business model because it has very low overheads. It involves selling other people’s products and services for which you receive a commission each time you generate a sale. It seemed the perfect solution, so I investigated into it in greater detail.

The result was that I came across a brand-new platform that had been created by a highly successful affiliate marketer called Stuart Ross. The company, called the Six Figure Mentors is a platform that teaches budding digital entrepreneurs how to succeed in affiliate marketing and digital marketing in general.

six figure mentors

I joined the platform and learnt everything that I could, then implemented what I had been taught. Quite a journey I can tell you. However, it was just a matter of time before I was earning thousands of dollars every month promoting digital products that taught other individuals how to create their own online business.

This is when my Limited Company called Nice Money Publications was born. The back story to the name is that I publish information on how to make nice money from home, either as a second income stream to run alongside people’s full-time jobs, or to replace their full-time income, by implementing the strategies and taking advantage of the opportunities that I introduce to them.

Mark Ford – Nice Money Publications

Nice Money Publications

Nice Money Publications has grown over the years and I now have a vast portfolio of my own products and services along with a network of websites to help many different types of individuals get out of the corporate 9 – 5 routine.

A part of my business now involves me in offering services as a professional home business lifestyle and blogging coach to highly motivated digital entrepreneurs.

dea black founding memberIt has also been a privilege since March 2015 to be involved daily in the development and management of a Mastermind Experience program where individuals pay in the region of $30,000 to be a member.

So as you can see I have vast experience in running home businesses and have turned my hand to different niches and industries. That is a common trait for successful home business owners, being able to spot opportunities and diversifying into areas which can be out of one’s comfort zone. Then having the willingness to learn new skill sets to compete with other online business owners and being able to adapt at the drop of a hat to new technologies and strategies.

By always being open to everything that I turn my hand to, and persevering to achieve success, it has resulted in creating a wonderful digital lifestyle that gives me the freedom and choice to do everything that I love to do in life.

mark ford on a pleasure boat in cyprus

Mark Ford On A Pleasure Boat In Cyprus

Many of the things that I do now would simply not be possible if I had stayed within the traditional and corporate world of having a 9 – 5 legal career and routine.

This is something that I am going to cover tomorrow when I give you the insight into what my life consists of now and what is possible if you put your mind to something and never quit on your dreams. What I share with you tomorrow will open your eyes and mind as to what is possible and hopefully create a vision of what your ideal life could look like, that will be different to mine but the principles are still the same.

Having the choice and freedom to live your life on your own terms. That’s what is coming tomorrow so please make sure that you take some time out for the next couple of days because at the end of this week I am going to hand you a golden opportunity to become the best version of yourself and create your dream digital lifestyle. The next two days could be life changing for you, so I hope you are as excited as I am. See you tomorrow.

I wish you every success in running your home business from anywhere in the world and profiting from your home business.

Mark Fords Story – Part 2

Mark Fords Story – The Legal Eagle Has Landed!

In this article Mark Ford continues his story by covering his long 29 year career in the legal system and law courts of the United Kingdom and what led him to one day quit his legal career to become a home business owner.

Read Part 1 Here < > Read Part 3 Here

mark ford

Mark Ford

Day 2 of my life story continues with a look at the next three decades that I spent within the UK legal system and what I had to do to eventually become a fully qualified solicitor.

It all started at the end of my conventional education where I was convinced that the best way forward was to secure a job within the legal system and then over a number of years work my way up and pass all the qualifications that I needed to have a ‘secure job and life’.

This went against what my mother and father thought was best for me. They were convinced that I should go to University.

However, my mind was made up and by eventually going to various technical colleges, polytechnics and the Law Society law school I qualified as a UK lawyer in 1994.

Before this my first job was a fresh-faced lad in an administrative role within a fines and fees office at Birmingham Magistrates Courts. Generally, when you start a new career you start at the bottom, learn the trade and move up the corporate ladder, this is exactly what I did. Perhaps this has been the case for you as well?

I worked my way through a number of administrative and management roles within the Court offices and this gave me an excellent grounding to become a trainee legal advisor and eventually a senior legal advisor to the Magistrates.

I can honestly say that by the time 1984 came around and my ‘boss’ said to me “would you like to become a trainee legal advisor, go to Law School and move out of the offices into the Court Room?” I had done to death most of the jobs in the various offices of a Magistrates Court and had excellent knowledge of how most things worked. I mean I was not going to then say to my boss “No thank you, I am a fresh faced lad of 24 years of age and I’ll stay in the offices and limit my opportunities”. That would have just been crazy.

My mum and dad divorced and to a certain extent I was out in the world on my own so I took it with both hands and the legal studies continued.

On the way to this position, as I mentioned yesterday, my adventure started when I enrolled at the Matthew Boulton Technical College to attain my “A” Level in law but that was just the start. I attended many polytechnics including Bristol where I attained my Diploma in Magisterial Law in 1987 and then onto Manchester where I studied my Common Professional Examinations.

Mark Ford - Law Society Presentations 1994

Mark Ford – Law Society Presentation 1994

Finally in 1994 I sat my Law Society Finals at the University of Wolverhampton. Well actually, I took my last Wills, Probate and Administration exam as a re-take at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, UK with planes flying overhead and bands practicing for their evening gigs. Who am I to complain? I knew that when I handed that exam paper in I had passed and I smiled at the lady taking the paper from me expelling a breath of air saying “That’s a big relief”.

You see along the way I lost my wife to a divorce and as someone who doesn’t quit I carried on and passed despite the stressful divorce proceedings while taking exams. In the end I became a fully qualified solicitor and I was allowed to fully practice my chosen profession.

A 17-year journey that started in 1977, as a 16 year old getting a job in a Magistrates Court, finally came to fruition at the age of 34 through my perseverance and hard work. I passed out as a UK lawyer.

law society finals

Mark Ford – Law Society Finals

Passed out now there’s a story. You would think that after all those years I would deserve a drink or two, with real ale being my favourite tipple. Thing is my mate (he will remain nameless) was supposed to drive me to the Law Society offices in London and back. No such luck as I did the driving and he got blootered, along with my dad!

It was all good though… a lot of fun and as long as they enjoyed themselves that’s okay. They were happy!

And you can see in the picture to the right where I accepted my credentials at the Law Society Presentations.

I invite you to remember this always… life has two rules;

> Rule 1. Don’t Quit

> Rule 2. Remember Rule 1. It’s that simple!

Mark Ford’s Story – The 29 Year Legal Career

My legal career lasted for 29 years and during that time I had many different roles after starting as an administrative assistant. These roles included providing advice to the Magistrates on criminal law, family law and local authority law and in some cases sitting alone in making decisions over a child’s welfare in Family Proceedings Courts.

However, one of the favourite roles I had was within the licensing department where individuals would apply for an alcohol license for their premises. These could be public houses, restaurants, hotels, night clubs and even betting offices.

Selly Oak Ex Service Mens Club

Selly Oak Ex Service Mens Club, Birmingham, UK where my Dad worked as the Steward

I think what helped me within this area of law was the experience that I had gained many years previously where I used to help my dad in the social and working men’s clubs. This was where I was first introduced by dad to the responsibilities of adulthood and business.

Through my teenage years I learnt a lot from my Dad about business management, accounts and also helped out at 18 years of age in the bar.

That is until one day I got taught a life lesson by Dad not to be late for work and in treating me like any other member of staff that was that!

traditional business lifestyle

Give us my job back Dad please!

He fired me. However, after pleading with him I eventually returned with my tail between my legs and got my job back.

After my dad left his job at the Longbridge car factory he then went into insurance sales but after that he had responsibilities managing local clubs and I would often assist him with the running of the establishments. So I knew the lay of the land when it came to that industry which little did I know then would help me later in life.

In my role as Licensing Clerk to the Licensing Authority I worked with the local authorities and licensing committees in administering the law for individuals to set up their establishments. This was a serious responsibility because at the end of the day individuals wanted to set up their businesses to earn their living, but they had to do it within the realms of the law so that all parties were safeguarded.

justice

Other roles I had was within a team of legal advisors in the administration and provision of legal advice with family matters. Also, one I am very proud off was when I set up an asset recovery panel. Here I trained a panel of magistrates on the appropriate law and systems that I had created as well as working closely with many legal authorities in recovering assets from individuals who had involved themselves with criminal activity.

Mark Ford’s Story – The Legal Days Are Ending!

You could say that all good things come to a natural end. However, maybe not because you will have a great deal to say in making things change in your life and you have to be prepared to move out of your comfort zones and make the change.

You see, in my case the trouble was that many things happened that were simply out of my control and within my job governments at national and local levels started to move the goal posts. This made the job and my tasks more difficult to implement.

What resulted was that I found that over the course of time my role started to become more of an administrative role which in my opinion was wasting my legal talents and skills along with the time that I had put in through my education. I became less motivated and disillusioned with everything as I saw myself as more of a clerical officer than a qualified lawyer. It was something very traumatic which meant I would need to take stock of my life, more on this in a moment.

As you can see I had many successes within my legal career right from my legal education, implementation and training people in many aspects of law within the legal system of the United Kingdom. Saying that though there were some bitter sweet moments along the way.

Just before I embarked on my chosen career my parents unfortunately separated which is a lot for any child to deal with at any time but when you are 16 and looking forward to your chosen career path you must dip into your levels of resolve and resources on more than one occasion.

Mark Ford with his son Daniel Ford

Mark Ford with his son Daniel Ford

As time went on I found my feet and started to get myself established and met a lovely lady who I would go onto marry in 1985. In 1988 our son Daniel was born. With that came the responsibilities of building a safe and sound home environment and studying hard to progress in my legal career.

You see, we had a little bundle of joy to raise but we loved it.

I am the sort of bloke that is not fazed by anything and I always embrace new challenges in life. Daniel was my flesh and blood and I would do anything for him so two became three and our family unit had grown.

Mark Ford’s Story – The Divorce!

Unfortunately, over the next few years the level of studying I had to do put a strain on my relationship with my wife and in 1993 we divorced which was another huge blow in my life. However, I didn’t let these tough times get the better of me and I overcame a very tough time in my life.

My philosophy in life is to never give up, always focus on your goals and do anything and everything you can to accomplish them. Things in life happen but never quit!

Mark Ford’s Story – Starting Over!

For 29 years I continued my legal career undertaking the roles that I have previously mentioned. It then got to around 2006 when I started to become disillusioned. My legal career was no longer challenging me and I had thoughts of starting my own home businesses to give me a totally different lifestyle. With that would come freedom!

The traumatic event I mentioned earlier was that I sadly lost my father to lung cancer, so I took a 4 month leave of absence to deal with our family loss and to re-focus on what I wanted to do with my future.

What happened was I took the decision to leave my career as a lawyer and start a property and investment business with a very close friend of mine.

I handed in my notice at work and started to make a plan of action for the new business venture.

mark ford leaving daySeptember 29th, 2006 was my last day at work in the legal offices, so that is now getting on for 12 years after passing the Law Society finals.

I can honestly say I have no regrets in becoming a home business owner.

When I look back at that time I now realise that I was a victim of following the trend in which everyone was expected to live their lives.

Meaning to study hard, secure that well paid job and then fall into the 9 – 5 cycle of life. Struggle into work in the morning in the commute and then back home again in the evening. When home you have a bit of dinner, then go to bed and do the same thing the next day and the next.

That is why I took back control of my life through working for myself along with my business partner. Tomorrow, I am going to cover my life as a home business owner but there is a little twist to my story with my first business venture so make sure you come back to follow my story.

Mark Ford the legal eagle dusts down his feathers and enters home business entrepreneurship. See you tomorrow.

I wish you every success in running your home business from anywhere in the world and working your way to the top!

Mark Ford’s Story – The Early Years

Mark Ford is happy to say he is back with a lifetime commitment to blog daily and share with his readership all things about running a home business, self awareness, mindsets, personal and business growth and oh yes, let’s not forget… who is Mark Ford?

After four years of developing a Mastermind Experience for the Digital Experts Academy, Mark the Blogger has re-surfaced and where better to start than with his life story!

Mark Ford is excited to share with you a series of articles that look at his life story right from an early age and up to where he has positioned himself as a top-level home business lifestyle coach and mentor to hundreds of aspiring digital entrepreneurs.

So here goes…

Today is April fools day, but it is no trick, after some time away I am back kicking off a series of articles that look at my life story.

This starts with my early years and family life but then goes through the different transitional periods of my life looking at my education, my career within the legal system of the United Kingdom and my journey into becoming a home business owner.

I will also look at the different business models that I have ventured into which have enabled me to position myself as a home business lifestyle coach and mentor.

I will also look at various aspects of my personal life, the up’s and downs and how I have handled every scenario that has presented itself to me.

The reason I am doing ‘this is my life’ series is so that you can really get to know the person I am, what my passions are, the lifestyle that I have created for myself and the processes and systems that I have either gone through or created to sustain that lifestyle.

Today I think the perfect place to start is way back in 1960.

Mark Ford’s Story – The Start!

I entered this world as Mark William Ford on September 2nd 1960 so therefore I am of the baby boomer generation. The baby boomer generation is for anyone who was born between 1946 and 1964 and the reason the generation has this label is because there was a substantial increase in birth rates all around the world in the years after World War 2 ended. So I just scraped into the later portion of this era.

bournville

Bournville Green, Birmingham

My Mum and Dad lived in an idyllic place called Bournville which is in South Birmingham in the United Kingdom.

Bournville may be familiar to you because it is the head quarters of the Cadbury’s chocolate factory.

Bournville chocolate is one of the company’s famous brands as it is a dark chocolate.

mark fords mum

Mum with my great nephew

My mum worked in the factory.

I was like a kid on Christmas morning all the time as we had a nice steady supply of chocolate coming into our home. I can still remember the constant smell of chocolate wafting around where we lived, a kid’s paradise!

Friday nights were good. Mum coming home from the chocolate shop with left over chocolate made available for the factory workers. Dad coming home with dandelion and burdock pop and ice cream. Then what?

Good question! Sitting around the fireplace with my brother, sister, mum and dad and eating chocolate and ice cream and drinking pop talking about family stuff and what we had been up to in the week. That’s how I remember it and they are fond memories.

mark fords dad

Dad’s Last Days with Cancer

My dad worked at the famous Longbridge car factory which was one of the biggest employers in our area, much like Cadbury’s, so myself, my mum and dad, my brother and sister were the typical family unit in the United Kingdom in that time. Mum and dad worked to provide a safe and secure home and as kids we did what kids did.

My father was also an excellent singer, performing on stage right through to almost 80 years of age when sadly I lost him to cancer.

This has led to me these days to supporting a charity called Victoria’s Promise. Learn more about ‘supporting and empowering young women through cancer’ at this link.

Dad loved a beer or two, as I do, and as a former Navy signalman he was very successful in managing a number of social clubs for Ex Service men.

Mark Ford’s Story – The Simple Life!

Life seemed much simpler when you look back, there were no things such as smartphones, social media, Playstations and Xboxes, no cable television, in fact there were just 2 or 3 channels and they were not around the clock 24/7.

We made our own entertainment such as climbing trees, inventing games to play on the pavements, riding bikes, exploring and playing sport. Health and safety was not like it is today, there weren’t so many personal injury lawyers ready to jump on multiple claims like there is now, we just got on with it, had a lot of fun and if we got hurt we would dust ourselves down and carry on regardless.

Mark Ford’s Story – The Swinging 60’s!

The swinging sixties introduced new sounds and new bands springing up left, right and centre which is where I got the love for music and little did I know then that this would be a foundation in a entertainment business venture that would emerge some 36 years later which I will talk about later during this week.

Mark Ford’s Story – Cricket!

Also sport has always been a real interest of mine and from an early age I really got into cricket, there was some really iconic stars of the game and some of them became role models for me to try and emulate.

My Meeting With Ian Botham

Any young kid is influenced by their heroes and it was the same for me, I became really good at the game, so much so that when I was at grammar school I was opening batsman for the school 1st team and later when I left school I played for Bournville Cricket club. My love for cricket started at an early age and has always stayed with me and I will speak about this more when I cover the home business lifestyle that I now enjoy today towards the end of this week.

Mark Ford’s Story – School Years!

Obviously my early years included my education and Bournville where I lived had a really good infant and junior school. The education system in the United Kingdom at the time consisted of the infant, junior and then senior stages and to a certain extent it remains the same today.

bournville junior and infant schoolMy first school was Bournville Junior & Infant School and this was typical of thousands of schools all over the country for pupils of that age.

This is where you went to learn the basics which were referred to as reading, writing and arithmetic which are the foundations too many aspects in life. Another good thing about these infant schools was that you could be very creative, it really was hands on and overall I learnt a lot and it was great fun.

The nature of the beast is that as time goes on it starts to get more serious and the intensity levels get higher each year you progress through the system. This did not faze me as I am the type of bloke that is always all in and give 100% at everything that I undertake, otherwise what is the point?

My time at Bournville Junior & Infant school was really good and rewarding, it also set me up perfectly for the ‘big’ school. When you get to the age of around 11 you know that your time at the ‘big school’ is fast coming, you have seen it many times from the outside and build up this picture of what it’s like inside.

Well, my time came, and I passed my 11+ examinations. I remember the feeling of amazement and disbelief as I was asked to write a story about a fire engine.

Really, okay then I did and I graduated to George Dixon george dixon grammar schoolGrammar School in Edgbaston, Birmingham and things became a whole lot more serious.

The point of this stage of your education is to set you up to transition into adulthood and carving out the next stage of your life with a chosen career path.

work at home solutionsAt grammar school I would not say that I excelled academically by sitting 9 “O” level qualifications and passing 4. As I mentioned earlier I was more interested in taking my place in the school cricket team and facing the onslaught of a leather cricket ball being fired at me at a great speed of knots, but like everything I do I faced up to it and mastered it for which I am very proud.

Mum and dad were keen for me to further my education at university level, but I steered away from that thinking because I thought it would be more beneficial to seek employment and study at the same time to further my career path. My chosen path was in the legal system of the United Kingdom. On the 9th June 1977 I left school to pursue my ambition of becoming a professional qualified lawyer.

Mark Ford - Law Society Presentations 1994

Mark Ford – Law Society Presentation 1994

From 1977 – 1994 I studied at various Polytechnics and Technical Colleges starting at the Matthew Boulton Technical College where I gained an “A” level in Law as well as the Common Professional Examinations before I finally passed the Law Society Final Examinations to become a fully qualified UK Solicitor in 1994.

As you can see my path was fairly conventional from being conceived into a family unit, learning the basic life skills, out with my mates and working through my early school years.

Then came the knuckling down to study hard and decide on a career path. Working hard to finally succeed in achieving my goals.

There were some real hurdles that I had to overcome especially at the age of 16 when my mum and dad separated before finally divorcing. That really affected me because I did feel somewhat alone living in isolation as a young 16 year old teenager. However, in time I realised that I had not been abandoned, this was not the case. I still had my mum and dad and they still loved and cared about me, but it was a hard time that I had to get through due to my personality of thinking positively and having a never say die attitude.

Still with me? Thank you for reading this far. This about covers my time as a child and going through into adolescence. Tomorrow I will cover my career as a lawyer and the ups and downs during that period so make sure that you bookmark my website and come back to learn more about the next chapter of my life. See you then.

I wish you every success in running your home business from anywhere in the world and working your way to the top!

Road To Success

Road To Success – How To Navigate The Road Ahead To Ensure That You Meet All The Goals You Have Set

An article from Mark Ford which helps you plan your own road to success so that you can be sure to meet all the goals and targets that you have set yourself both personally and professionally.

mark ford

Mark Ford

Hello, Mark Ford here. Today I want to help you create a real plan of action so that you can maximise the potential that you have and create a lifestyle of freedom and choice for you and your nearest and dearest.

The road is long with many a winding turn are the opening lyrics to a fantastic song of the 1960’s called He’s My Brother by the Hollies which if you haven’t heard it before then check it out on YouTube. These lyrics could be the opening statement to the plan that you are going to create to plot your own road to success.

There are many elements that you need to put into place so that you can achieve the ultimate success within your life, whether that is for personal or business interests.

Now I must warn you that success doesn’t come easy and why should it? If something is worth having, then you should be prepared to put the work in and not just rely on hope and giving it a go. The world owes you nothing!

Total commitment from the start is needed, you must give 100% at all times and there is no room for having the attitude of let’s try it because you know what is going to happen.

As soon as the road to success starts to get bumpy you are going to use your get out of jail card and say it “didn’t work out” because that is the mindset you have had from the outset. You are saying to yourself “I told you so”. Well done you have succeeded in failing! – Rather, what did you learn from that?

road to success

Road To Success

You must have the mindset that you must have success, nothing else will do and you will walk through brick walls to get it. You will then be setting yourself up the best way you can. Saying this though you must realise that it’s not enough, success is still not guaranteed because you must learn specific skills sets that will equip you with what you need.

I am now going to share with you the key ingredients for a smooth journey along your road to success which will instil into you the must have attitude instead of just wanting things and wishing they would happen. My only pre-requisite is that you are committed to changing your life, if you are not then you may as well click away from this page because you are not going to get any value from it. Will you read on?

Great you are still with me which fills me with hope that however long your road to success is, and not everybody’s is the same, you will arrive at your final destination.

Road to Success – Your Why And Purpose

finding your why

Finding Your Why

You can’t take the first step without knowing why you are starting this journey. This is something that you will have to sit down and think very hard about so that you come up with your mission in life.

Your road to success should only have one direction and that obviously is forward but if you don’t know the direction you want your life to go then you run the peril of engaging in reverse gear and fall into the trap of 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

This is wasted time which you will never get back. You must know what you want in life and the person you want to become. When you discover that then this is the direction that you must follow.

There is a simple process that you can go through to find your mission and purpose and it involves asking yourself 3 questions.

  1. What are you good at?
  2. What do enjoy doing?
  3. How can you use these to help society?

Road To Success – Start To Take Action

Your first step is to start forming good habits that will help you achieve your goals. So take some time to think of the things that are most important and useful for you to undertake daily. Habits take time and you should be looking at around 30 – 60 days for it to become second nature for you to perform these tasks.

At first you will be motivated to create them then after about 10 days you may experience that it starts to become a little bit harder and then you will look for excuses not to do it. Here is where you will need some discipline to not give up, so you must plough on.

When you get to the 20-day period things will start to get easier, the habit is starting to form, and the sweet spot is when you get to the 30-day period where things start to become effortless, you will not have to consciously think about doing things and it will be second nature.

So now the habits have been formed but you must realise that it will take longer to see the results you want so don’t get despondent because they will come. Give yourself at least 100 days, roughly 3 months and then you will become more confident, start getting traction and gain momentum.

Road to Success – Be Positive

positive attitudeYou must erase all negativity from your life and this starts with you.

Your mindset must be positive and here is why.

If you think negatively then you will not see the opportunities when they present themselves because it won’t hit home, but if you are a positive thinker then your mind is a lot clearer and you can recognise the opportunity right in front of your eyes.

So how can you get into a positive mindset. The first is to stop reading the newspapers or watching the news on television. Let’s face it there is not a lot of good news in the world when it comes to the media and positivety is not at the top of their agendas. It’s usually half way through the paper or just a brief mention in their broadcast.

Also when it comes to music don’t listen to stuff that is depressing with sad lyrics because more than often it will make you cry and set of bad memories that you can’t shake out of your head.

Another thing to do is not listen to negative advice, negativity breeds negativity and you will come across people whose mission in life is to be miserable and take down everybody who is around them. We all have a circle of influence, people who we mix with all the time so look at your inner circle and weed out the doom and gloom merchants and disassociate yourself from them. This is going to be one of the hardest things that you must do but for you to reach the final destination on your road to success you must do it!

In many ways you must become ruthless for the sake of your own future and destiny and if you look at some of the most successful people in history this is what they have done.

When you have weeded out these people you must then seek out positive people to replace them. Positivity leads to positivity by mixing with like minded people who all have the same direction in life. You can brainstorm with them and even collaborate with them to help each other to reach goals.

Road To Success – Don’t Quit

don't quitOnly losers quit when times get tough and they will for sure. You must develop a never say die attitude, keep looking at your final destination and develop the belief that you can arrive there.

Be determined, persistent and continue to take the action steps that are needed. Look at the likes of the late Steve Jobs who started Apple with his friend in his garage or Jeff Bezos of Amazon fame who started in his spare bedroom. If they had quit, then you wouldn’t be able to use your MacBook Pro to log onto Amazon and do all your shopping! Hopefully you get my point.

Road to Success – Love Your Work

Everything becomes so much easier if your love your work. Don’t spend the 40 odd years of your life doing something you hate which millions of people all around the world do sadly. If you love your work you will wake up in the morning inspired to do some good for the world through the actions that you take.

That is something I want to highlight. When you take action, it leads to inspiration. You may do something which then gives you another idea, the light bulb moment which could be your next big project, something that could even change the world. That may be a bold statement, but you never know!

Road to Success – Be Healthy And Develop

You must be healthy in both your mind and body and the only way to do that is to make the right decisions. Eat healthy and exercise regularly, it is not rocket science, put good ingredients into your mouth and burn it off through an exercise regime that you stick to.

Energy levels will increase which leads to more productivity in the actions you take, which results in success.

Always look to improve your physical and mental skill sets. Look at personal development, the areas where you can improve then seek the professional help you need which will expand your inner circle of positive people.

These are the steps you need to take to create and follow your own road to success. It won’t be easy but is anything in life worth it if it is? Let me know your comments below on anything that I have shared with you and be sure to share with me your success stories when they happen. Just follow these steps.

I wish you every success in running your home business from anywhere in the world on the road to success!

Don’t Quit – Will You Turn Back On Your Goals and Your Dreams and Stay Unfulfilled?

mark ford

Mark Ford

If there were just 2 rules in life they would have to be… number 1… don’t quit… number 2… remember rule 1.

When I look back on the numerous challenges since 2007, and what I have battled and been through, to establish myself with a secondary base in Cyprus, it really brings home the importance of not quitting on your journey to your goal, to the outcome and lifestyle you seek.

It’s tough starting out and the bit in the middle requires true grit and determination. However, when you reach your goal, your destiny, it all settles down and it is time to reward yourself for staying the course.

Back on the 3rd June 2018 I threw a house warming party. This is perhaps better called an apartment warming party and I would like to thank each and everyone of you that attended and helped me to make the day so special. Memorable!

Personal Development Goals

Personal Development Goals – Goal Setting Is Vital For Personal Development So Here Are Some Of The Most Important Areas Of Your Life That You Should Be Concentrating On So That You Can Become The Best Version Of Yourself

In this article experienced home business lifestyle coach Mark Ford looks at the personal development goals that you should be concentrating on so that you can create the most fulfilling life possible.

mark ford

Mark Ford

Let’s continue today looking at personal development and more specifically personal development goals.

Many people overlook this as they go through their lives’, but it is crucial to everybody so that they can live a happier and abundant lifestyle. Goal setting gives you a clear direction on where you want your life to be heading but many people get hung up on setting goals but not understanding how they are going to achieve them.

Also people think that the point of goal setting is just for material things such as they want to buy the car of their dreams by a certain date. Or they want to pay off their mortgage within 10 years.

Maybe they want to start a business and set a goal of earning $5000 per month.

Another favourite one is health where people want to lose weight and set themselves a target of losing so many pounds in 6 months or they want to stop smoking and then eat healthier. Now I am not saying that people shouldn’t do this, far from it, but they need to have the foundations in place so that they have any chance of achieving the goals they have set for themselves.

Everything starts in the mind and then transitions itself through the body to change attitudes and take action. You need to have the correct mindset to achieve anything in life and that is what I want to talk about today. Over the next few minutes as you read this article I will share several mindset issues that you have to get right in the first place and when you do then you will find the art of setting personal development goals will become effortless and then you will see positive results within your personal and professional life.

There will be things that I share with you that may have never crossed your mind as being important to your personal development and you may have some lightbulb moments and realise that there are certain things that have been holding you back in your development.

The good thing is that it is never too late to change things and you can easily implement things into your life to give you the best chance of creating the life and lifestyle that you desire.

So lets look at a series of mindset skill sets that you can practice to give you the best chance of living your ideal life!

Personal Development Goals – How To Create The Right Mindset

personal development goals

Personal Development Goals

Gaining Self Confidence – One of your personal development goals should be to develop self-esteem and self-confidence but how do you do this? Confidence stems from success and success stems from learning how to do this correctly and proficiently. This can be applied to anything in life but you need to take action.

Confidence is a powerful thing and when you are confident in life then you can achieve great things. Confidence should not be compared to arrogance and cockiness though as this rubs people up the wrong way and people like this usually have some underlying misgiving that they are trying to hide.

Your Body Language – There is a saying that “first impressions last” and the first impression that someone will have of you is the body language that you portray. So you need to come over very positive without being seen as pushy or smothering. Always look people in the eye when you are talking to them and never hunch your shoulders as this can give a negative impression to the person you are trying to connect with. This is especially relevant when you looking to secure a new job within an interview process.

Develop Relationships – A relationship is a two-way street, there must be give and take for the relationship to blossom. So as part of your personal development you need to learn how to get along with people. Always be prepared to listen to people and take onboard their opinions even if you don’t agree with them and give your opinion in a way that you are not forcing it down their throat.

Eventually people will respect you, and you them, and this will lead to a lasting and fulfilling relationship with people personally and professionally.

Stop Procrastinating – The definition of procrastination is that someone keeps delaying something that must be done, often because it is unpleasant or boring. So this is something that you need to overcome to enhance your personal development.

You must be clear, concise and take action on what must be done. If you continue to procrastinate then nothing will become real and all you will have is dreams.

sun risingGet Up Early – You will have plenty of time to sleep when you are dead and that is not meant to sound flippant. There is a saying that the “early bird catches the worm” so I advise you to get up early to maybe see the sunrise or do your daily exercise routine. This sets the body up perfectly for the day ahead and you will have high motivation levels to get stuff done.

So don’t wallow about in your bed until mid-morning because you are wasting a lot of your time instead of creating a beautiful life!

Be More Proactive – You should always be proactive rather than being re-active. If you are proactive then you are acting to avoid mishaps that may raise their ugly heads. What usually happens when you are re-active is that you panic in the event of a situation and this leads to stress.

Being proactive lets you control your fate and take responsibility for the results that you achieve.

Forget The Past – The past is the past and unless you have a time machine that can go backwards it can never be changed. We all have things in our past that have been unpleasant, whether that is being bullied at school or having bad relationships within the family or intimate partners.

Maybe business ventures have not gone the way you wanted and it has resulted in you losing money. Whatever it is you must let go of it. In doing so you will give yourself every chance of moving forward.

Become Resilient – You will have to develop the skin of a rhino to overcome many forms of adversity that you will face. You will have to develop a brave and confident mindset because if you are weak and helpless then you will continue to struggle, and things will get on top of you, there is no doubt.

Examples of Personal Development Goals Video

believe in yourselfDevelop Belief – If you have limited belief in something that you are about to embark on then you are onto a non-starter. You are basically telling yourself that this is not going to work, maybe it is your get out of jail card so that you can justify things further down the line. You will never escape from your comfort zone which is basically fear of what could happen.

To meet any of your goals then you must believe in them 100% from the get go or don’t even bother.

Be In The Moment – The time is now and not what has happened in the past or what could happen in the future. You must be aware of where you are now and your surroundings. There is a term called mind wandering which means that you often look back or think of the future which makes you unhappy.

Look around you and embrace the abundance you have in your life. It could be as simple as mother nature, the sun shining and the birds singing, or it could be your family which is the most precious thing in your life and be grateful that they are happy and healthy.

Often it is the simple things that make us happy so be aware of what you have got and think that there is always someone worse off than you.

Make Better Decisions – The decisions you make will have a huge impact on the quality of the life you will have and the outcomes that you get. So you need to get good on making decisions but also remember that no one is perfect, and you will make mistakes. When this happens make sure you learn from it so you don’t do it again.

Develop A Positive Attitude – When you have a positive attitude then you will have a great outlook on life and it will help you respond and react to any situation that you find yourself in for the better. A negative attitude results in negative things happening to you so always look on the bright side of life as Monty Python said, be positive and get ready to take the bull by the horns and always do you best.

So as you can see there is a lot more to personal development goals than you may have thought. Your success depends on what happens in your head, it is the foundation to everything you do or will have in your life so make sure you develop the right mindsets and I am sure that whatever goals you set yourself you will achieve and reach your full and true potential.

Importance of Personal Development – What Is Personal Development?

If you haven’t had the chance to read my other articles on personal development I think I should briefly go over what in fact personal development is and covers. As mentioned in the title of this article personal development starts when you are brought into the world and ends when your time is up, and you depart. In other words, it is a lifelong process of learning and experiencing things both good and bad.

Over the period of your life you will have the opportunity to asses the skills sets you have along with your own personal qualities. Also you will have dreams, aspirations which you can set goals to aim for to help you realise your full potential and ultimate fulfilment.

Over the next few minutes you will learn some incredibly valuable lessons on how to pinpoint and identify individual skill sets that you will need to help you set those life goals to help you in several aspects throughout your life. These will include what happens within your personal life along with your chosen career path to raise your employability chances, to increase your confidence and help you lead of life of abundance.

Many people think that personal development is more prevalent in our younger years as we go through childhood, adolescence and through transition into becoming an adult. The answer to that is yes and no and here is why.

Yes we develop the basic life skills as we grow up but there is a saying that you learn something new everyday and this is very true but personal development stays with you for well into your later life. So if you are open minded are you ready to think about your personal development to reach your goals and maximise your full potential?

Earlier I mentioned about a well know theory or process which looks at specific needs that a person has within their life that eventually leads that person to self-actualisation. This process is called Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, so let’s dive into this first.

Importance Of Personal Development – Maslow’s Hierarchy Of Needs

abraham maslow

Abraham Maslow

In 1943 Abraham Maslow wrote a paper called “A Theory of Human Motivation” and contained within in it is a psychology theory called Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.

This theory describes the stages of growth within human beings depicting their needs. Now there are 5 levels to this theory and it starts off with physiological then moves onto safety, belonging and love, esteem and self-actualisation.

So let’s look at each level. As you will see by the image below you will see that the hierarchy is in the shape of a pyramid. The base of the pyramid is the widest as this represents the fundamental needs of every human being. As with any pyramid it tapers up to a point and this is where self-actualisation happens.

From the bottom up the first 4 levels represent the needs of a person and for a person not to feel anxious and tense then these 4 levels of need to be met. His theory is that once the base level needs have been met then the individual will have greater focus and motivation to progress through all the other levels of the Pyramid. He came up with the phrase “metamotivation” which he uses to describe the persons motivation to scale the pyramid and beyond to better themselves.

maslows hierarchy of needs

Maslows Hierarchy Of Needs

Each level is controlled by the human mind which means that different levels can be reached at the same time and can happen at anytime within someone’s life. Physiological Needs – These are the basic physical needs that human beings need to survive and is regarded as the most important level and these needs must be met first. The human body can’t physically function if these requirements are not met and will lead to the body eventually failing. They are as follows –

  • Breathing
  • Water
  • Food
  • Sleep
  • Clothing
  • Shelter
  • Sex
  • Excretion
  • Homeostatis

Safety Needs – This level is for the safety and security needs of a person and will cover both physical and economic safety. Physical safety can affect people in several ways such as the threat of war, family abuse or even mother nature rearing her head. Economic safety relates to the world economy in times of recession, not having the security of a job with a paycheque coming in each month. So in summary this level covers the following –

  • Security of the body
  • Security of employment
  • Security of family
  • Security of health
  • Security of property
  • Security of morality

love and belongingLove/Belonging Needs – Everyone wants to have the feeling of being loved and belonging and can be prevalent in children. If people have experienced neglect, hospitalisation and being unloved then this can have serious implications on the individual’s ability to form meaning, long, lasting and emotional relationships in general.

Love – Belonging Needs

  • Feeling part of a group or community
  • Being part of a family or having their own
  • Sexual intimacy
  • Being social both in general and in the workplace
  • Feeling affection and love
  • Giving and receiving trust
  • Being accepted

Esteem Needs – Human beings need to have recognition and respect from other people. Along with that they like to feel important and have status. All these elements lead a person to have self-esteem, of value and a feeling that they are contributing to the world.

  • Gaining self esteem
  • Self respect
  • Feeling confident and competent
  • Gaining respect from others, family and work colleagues

According to Maslow there are two levels of esteem. They are a lower version and a higher version. The lower version relates to the need of feeling respected by others and to have that status and attract attention. The higher version relates to the individual having respect for themselves and they have the need for freedom, independence and self-confidence. Saying all this though, both levels are very closely related.

Self-Actualisation Needs – This level refers to what a person’s full potential is and that person’s realization of it. The individual has the desire to accomplish everything he or she can and become completely whole. This will vary widely from one person to another as everyone is unique and has their own needs to fulfil.

  • Having the ability to solve problems
  • Having great morality
  • Being creative
  • Having a lack of prejudice
  • Having acceptance of the facts
  • Reaching full potential

Importance Of Personal Development – So How Do you Go From The Bottom Of Maslow’s Hierarchy Of Needs To the Top

Well I have written a lot of articles over the last couple of weeks with lots of information related to personal development and growth, so I highly encourage you to check them out when you have time. What I will do is give you a condensed blueprint to help you understand the theory of Maslow and to help you with your personal development. Create Your Vision – Outline where you want your life to be over the next 6 months, 12 months, 5 years or 10 years. Write it all down so you can refer to it or create a vision board that you can hang within your home.

plan your personal development

Plan Your Personal Development

Plan Your Personal DevelopmentI wrote a detailed article on this subject just a few days ago so it will give you a clear direction on how to plan your personal development and you can read it by clicking here.

Start Learning – There are numerous resources that you can leverage like books, audio and video to consume. This will help you with what you need to develop within yourself.

Research personal development leaders and the internet is a great place to find free information on personal development.

Record Your Development – This is a crucial step as if you don’t record how you are doing along the way you will not have anything to refer to when you want to see how you are getting on.

Review And Adapt – Your personal development is a fluid thing and can change for several reasons so once you have reviewed you progress you may want to change and tweak a few things and there is nothing wrong with this.

This article has been quite in-depth, but I hope that you now see the importance of personal development and the reasoning behind it. If you are unsure about anything that I have shared with you then please feel free to connect with me by clicking here.
