Today I want to look at a platform called LinkedIn and how you can be using LinkedIn for marketing your products and services.

LinkedIn is a great tool that you can use and it is seen as a social media platform for professional people to connect with each other.

Here are some interesting statistics that I came across regarding LinkedIn which highlights how powerful it can be to promote your home business and the products and services that you provide.

  • LinkedIn has over 65 million professional people registered on their platform.
  • The average household income for LinkedIn members is over $100,000.
  • Over 50% of people who are LinkedIn have the power to make major decisions within the company they work for.

So if you are a home business owner then LinkedIn is where you want to position yourself to mix and network with other high calibre individuals.

If you have not got a LinkedIn account then it is very easy to open one. Just go over to their website and create your LinkedIn log-in and set up your profiles and business page.

What you should focus on is how you can help other LinkedIn members by the services that you offer so that it attracts them to you. Once you have done this you will be in a position to start marketing yourself.

There are two ways that you can use LinkedIn for marketing yourself and your business. You can either be passive or proactive and I will explain both strategies in detail.

Using LinkedIn For Marketing – Being Passive

You can still build up connections by just being a passive LinkedIn member. How you do this is by regularly updating your profiles with your latest news and information.

This will help because it will give you exposure to people who are actively searching for products and services on LinkedIn and they will come across you.

You will then gain the introductions to potential clients that you may not have had the chance of getting or could have been possibly out of your reach.

Then when you get testimonials you can display them on your profile to give you credibility which will attract people to do business with you.

Using LinkedIn For Marketing – Being Proactive

Obviously being proactive means that you take action and lots of it! You can do this by posting regular status updates on the projects that you are currently working on as this will interest any potential clients. You should focus on how you are helping other people achieve their goals.

Also join groups that are related to your business and become active within them by answering questions that arise so that you can position yourself as an authority and expert in your field.

You could also try the LinkedIn paid advertising platform which is one of the most cost effective paid advertising platforms available.

Also consider upgrading to one of LinkedIn paid membership programs to see which one suits what you are trying to achieve with your business.
